The Stuff with Valerie Helbert calling at Salem College, February 4, 2018

Fiddle and Bow Country Dancers
Fiddle and Bow Contra Dancers

“The Stuff” is back to bring us more great dancing music. Great stuff! Gretchen Caverly’s fiddle playing will carry you away with her precise yet freely interpreted melodies. Nic Coker works the guitar, supporting the melody with his creative and fluid rhythm and bass lines. In other words – music that is great fun to dance to!

This night Valerie Helbert calls dances for the new dancer as well as for the more experienced ones. You will enjoy her gentle teaching and calling.

– No partner necessary because you will dance with everyone in the room.

– If you’re new, you’ll probably have more fun if you attend the short lesson at 5:30 just before the dance.

– Clean, soft soled shoes – bring with you to change into

– Dancing starts at 6pm and goes until 9pm with a short break in the middle.

– Bring friends whenever you can for more fun and for growing the dance.

– In contra, everyone makes mistakes but nobody cares so have fun!
