Clemmons – Nic Coker and Laurie Fisher with caller Jack Mitchell

We are happy to welcome back Nic Coker, who knows how to work the guitar, supporting the melody with his creative and fluid rhythm and bass lines.

Multi-talented Laurie Fisher has been wending her musical mercenary way for the past 28 years. A self proclaimed ‘Jill of many instruments, master of none’, she calls dances, plays and instructs multiple instruments and musical styles.

Clemmons – The Stuff, caller Nick Boulet

Sunday early evening dances are transitioning to mostly 2nd Sundays beginning in August.  This is the first of those so go ahead and mark it on your calendar.  The lesson for new people is at 5:30 pm and dancing starts at 6 and you can dance as much as you ‘d like until pm.  We have a short break in the middle with a few waltzes you can try and to close out each evening we have a final waltz.

“The Stuff” is back to bring us more great dancing music. Great stuff! Gretchen Caverly’s fiddle playing will carry you away with her precise yet freely interpreted melodies. Nic Coker works the guitar, supporting the melody with his creative and fluid rhythm and bass lines. In other words – music that is great fun to dance to!

This night our own Nick Boulet calls dances for the new dancer as well as for the more experienced ones. His relaxed, fun way of calling is infectious making the evening very fun.

Nic and Gretchen, the stuff of The Stuff, will carry you to the high altitudes of contra dancing during the 3 hour dance evening with their fine interpretation of the many tunes in their repertoire.

Caller Elleen Thorsos, from the Triangle, meets the band half-way bringing fun, friendliness and favorite dances to the evening. Eileen is popular on the dance circuit and at dance weekends, you’ll like her!

PARKING – Good luck with that! No, actually, it is the same as last time. For those who enjoy reading manuals continue reading. For those who are more visual, skip to the drawing.
Because the school is under construction we suggest some people park on the curb along Lea Ray Drive. Leaving the Grange, turn right on Lindley Road then immediate left on Lea Ray, a residential street. Please do not block driveways or fire hydrants, etc. No parking at the nearby church please.
